my connection as of late

Finally gave charter a call tonight after i disconnected after our first attempt. First thing I hear is that they are expering outages in my zip code, so that doesnt seem promising. Have been on hold for a half hour so far waiting to talk to a rep. so hopefully I can figure out what is going on with my pos connection.

It may not have been your local area, Granton. Last night I kept getting lag bubbles of up to 30 seconds, that would sometimes disconnect me. Twice I couldn't immediately log back in.

When I traced it, there was a spot 8 hops up that was out. As my traceroute to the WoW servers is usually about 15-20 hops, that means it was somewhere on the backbone that was going out.

I had lag spikes as well, and one time my internet connection flat out died for 3 or more minutes.

Using Qwest DSL here.

Ok so i only disconnected once tonight. My thought it there was something wrong on their end and until i complained there wasnt going to be anything done about it. Because since that phone conversation with the rep. I haven't had nearly the same amount of connection issues overall.
