Post subject: Update on me: SHE SAID YES!!!! (pics)

Well, I hopped on a plane to San Antonio last night at 6:30 est and got there after 1am CST, and had a meeting with my jeweler this morning at 10 am. I picked out the setting and stone and wrote a check, then immediately hopped on a flight back up here. So the ring is bought, and he'll ship it up to me in CT (yay avoiding sales tax) in a week or so, and in two weeks, I'll be down on my knee presenting it.
This is all a big secret from Rhonda. She thought I was out drinking last night. In fact, my flights got delayed by over two hours getting in, so I couldn't call her by the time I got in. She got all worried, and thought the worst with me "out on the town"! It's not like I could call her from an airport with "Please do not leave your baggage un-attended, and as a reminder, there is no smoking in the insert_airport_here airport. Thank you." "Oh, that, it's just theme night at the bar, sugar!" hah.
I'll keep y'all up to date...I'll probably have pictures from the proposal!

You flew to San Antonio to get the ring?! omg. Tell us about the ring please (metals, mounting, stone, cut, size, etc.). And who's the jeweler? Must be something special for you to fly all that way.
The jeweler is a family friend, so he gave me a GREAT deal on it.
The diamond is a 1 CT Marquis cut VSI2 color I.
Mounting in white gold solitair band, but it has some fancy stuff going on on the sides. No bagets or extra stones, but some neat metal work. Im almost positive I'm getting her exactly what she wants. But then again, what girl is going to complain about a diamond.
Beautiful! Now just don't frown at her when she accidentally stabs you with the stone! (Takes a little bit to learn the clearance you have with a new ring. I've managed to dent platinum!)
Rhonda and I have known each other since 6th grade (13 years) We grew up singing together in the choir. That stage you see me proposing on is the high school stage where I guess you can say we fell in love.
Our high school choir teacher was having a reunion/retirement party of sorts the next day, so I got him to lure her up to the school under the guise of helping him out with sorting out pictures for the reunion. He led her out into the auditorium where her family and friends and my family and friends (including Antolio there ) were waiting in the audience. (she didn't even know I was in town)
I was waiting in the alcove and came out and did my schpele and proposed. SHE SAID YES! March 20, 2004, I'll be a married man. Shouldn't be too many updates till then, but if there are any, I'll let y'all know!
Huge congratulations, bro. Bitmaps are the enemy to 28k however and I couldn't see the pictures. I wish you and Rhonda the best for the rest of your lives, you're a great guy. My wishes go out to you and her, may your lives be happy and fulfilling.
